Boston's federal courthouse was blanketed in security and swarming with news media Wednesday as the city braced for the arraignment of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev -- his first public appearance since the April 15 Boston Marathon bombings.
Outside the John Joseph Moakley U.S. Courthouse on the South Boston waterfront, more than a dozen TV news trucks took up every curbside spot. The "Free Jahar” movement was out in full force Wednesday for the court appearance of Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, with dozens of supporters who believe he is innocent of terrorism charges. "Give Dzhokhar back his life,” one protester shouted outside the Moakley Courthouse in Boston, hours before the 19-year-old Tsarnaev was set to appear in federal court for his arraignment. A group of "Free Jahar” supporters clashed with one man who was visibly angry that anyone would back the Boston bombing suspect.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the alleged Boston Marathon bomber, made his first public appearance since the April 15 attack Wednesday in a federal court room and pleaded not guilty to a sweeping terrorism indictment that carries the possibility of the death penalty.
With 30 bombing victims in the courtroom, some wearing the Boston Marathon gear, Tsarnaev entered "not guilty” pleas in a thick accent seven times to groups of charges including using a weapon of mass destruction. WASHINGTON _ The chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee on Wednesday lambasted the Federal Bureau of Investigation for what he called attempts to "stonewall” congressional investigations of the events leading up to the Boston Marathon bombings. In opening the panel’s second hearing on the attacks, Representative Michael McCaul, a Republican from Texas, criticized the FBI for not appearing before the committee. The FBI interviewed the alleged bombers two years before they set off a pair of explosives at the April 15 finish line.
